Camping

Staying overnight within Haleakalā National Park is only allowed in a designated camping area. Reservations can be made at Hosmer Grove Campground in the summit district or in Kīpahulu Campground in the coastal district. Staying overnight or sleeping within a vehicle outside of a campground is prohibited.

Visitors to Haleakalā National Park have three different options for staying overnight. Both the Summit District and the Kīpahulu District offer frontcountry, drive-up camping. Tent camping and cabin camping are available with applicable permits and reservations.

Take note there is a maximum of three (3) overnight stays total for all Haleakalā National Park areas in a thirty day period. Pets are not permitted in or around campsite facilities.
